Heavy Tow Recovery in Winter Garden

Heavy Tow Recovery Team Gets Dump Truck Out of Fountain Parking Spot

Our heavy tow recovery team made a quick trip to Winter Garden, FL, after a dump truck driver found himself in an unusual parking spot. The dump truck driver had lost control of the truck while taking a curve. Unable to stop, he drove over a manicured lawn and straight into a massive water fountain!

The out of control dump truck only came to a stop after it smashed into the fountain’s decorative rocks! With the front end of the truck completely wrecked, the driver could not get the truck back out of the fountain.

When the heavy recovery team arrived on scene, they noticed that diesel, coolant fluid, and oil were leaking from the damaged cab. They called in Incident Management Solutions (IMS) who did a great job at containing the leak.

Using their rotator, the heavy tow recovery team got the dump truck out of the fountain in two phases. Phase one required them to pull the truck from the backend. Once the truck was at a better angle, they hooked up to the front end and pulled it all the way out of the fountain.

It was 1:00 in the afternoon on an incredibly hot Florida day and the team actually enjoyed wading through the fountain while they set up their winching lines! It’s not the most conventional way to cool down but we’re glad you got some relief from the heat!

Once they got the truck out of the fountain, the team from Johnson’s Wrecker Service towed the dump truck back to their secure yard for storage.

Great work out there!

Details of Heavy Tow Recovery Team Gets Dump Truck Out of Fountain Parking Spot

A heavy tow recovery team from Johnson’s Wrecker Service was dispatched to Winter Garden, Florida. Driving a rotator, the team made their way to the customer’s location. When the heavy tow recovery team arrived at the site of the job, they assessed the situation.

A dump truck had lost control while taking a curve and driven into a large fountain. The heavy tow recovery team had to wade through the fountain in order to reach the backend of the dump truck. Once at the truck, the heavy tow recovery team hooked onto the back of the truck.

The heavy recovery team slowly began winching the truck backwards. When the truck was closer to them, the heavy tow recovery removed the winching lines from the back of the truck and attached them to the front end of the dump truck.

With the lines re-attached, the heavy tow recovery team were able winch the truck out of the fountain. Once it was on dry land, the team disconnected the driveline on the dump truck. With the truck ready to be towed, the heavy tow recovery team drove it to the Johnson’s Wrecker Service secure lot.

The heavy recovery team then cleaned all their equipment and the rotator in order to be ready for the next job!
